Founded in 2017 by Hong Kong-based financial journalist Jame DiBiasio, DigFin analyzes business models of firms in the digital finance, fintech, and digital assets segments. The online journalism brand also generates bespoke content for its clients in the financial space.
DiBiasio, who also serves as the editor-in-chief of DigFin, said that the company will use AMTD Digital’s investment to help generate more content and broaden the scope of its marketing and storytelling for customers.
“Media is a key component to AMTD Digital’s mission to connect digital financial services, media and data intelligence, talent cultivation, and knowledge enabling,” said Calvin Choi, the founder of AMTD Digital and the chairman of AMTD Group.
The acquisition comes just months after AMTD Digital’s strategic investment in Forkast, a Hong Kong-based digital media platform. AMTD Digital also recently entered a joint venture with Xiaomi subsidiary Airstar Digital and publishing and data firm 36Kr.
AMTD Digital runs businesses across several verticals, including digital finance, digital media and data intelligence, and digital investments.
