Today, Singapore waves goodbye to three year old eSports team, Flash eSports. Founder and owner of Flash eSports, Terence Ting, has posted an epitaph on the website’s front page that has been long in coming.
In it, the 22 year old Singaporean detailed the team’s journey, and touched a little on why he chose to shelve the team. Apart from personal problems, Ting cited their previous contract with Cooler Master as one of the catalysts of the shutdown. He wrote that the team had been “struggling” to fulfil their contractual obligations to the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer.
The shutdown of Flash eSports sets loose FIFA prodigies Chiang Wen Jun (hibidi), Erwyn ‘El Rey’ Shah, and Aeriel ‘Xtr3me3’ Phirkhan. Also free to pursue a new path is StarCraft II player Thomas ‘Blysk’ Kopankiewicz and possibly his fellow teammates, Bryan ‘Drake’ Sum and Ryan ‘Kyzer’ Low, though the latter two have been rather quiet for a while.
