The insights are based data from over 20 billion transactions that the Walmart-backed startup has processed over the years. With more than 45% of the digital payments market share in the country, PhonePe said the data was representative of India’s digital payment habits.
The startup has broken down the payments data into categories, which include peer-to-peer, merchant settlements, and recharge and bill payments. The new platform will display state-wise data and location-specific figures for 19,000 pincodes.
The anonymous user data will be published on a quarterly basis, along with a detailed annual report. The platform will also publish articles on consumer and merchant use cases related to digital payments.
“Pulse is our way of giving back to the digital payments ecosystem. When we started PhonePe five years back, we struggled to get reliable granular data on digital payments trends across the country,” said Sameer Nigam, founder and CEO of PhonePe.
