As it’s the most populous nation on earth and a nation whose gamers, historically speaking, love Blizzard, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that China has a ton of Hearthstone players. How many? More than any other country on earth, according to Netease CEO Ding Lei:
China has the highest number of Hearthstone users in the world, and they’re a highly active group. I’m not going to share specific numbers at this time, but the success of Hearthstone is a terrific thing. It proves there’s a huge audience for this kind of card game and that the game has a good user experience.
Hearthstone was released in China in March, with the iPad version coming out in the Middle Kingdom the following month.
