Sina Cup 3 main event day 1: VG, LGD.cn, iG, and DK in upper bracket semi-finals

The Sina Cup Supernova Season 3 entered its main event brackets yesterday. Unlike the qualifier rounds, the main event will follow a double elimination format, meaning teams will be able to lose twice before they are eliminated from the tournament. In the end, the winners of the upper and lower brackets will face in the grand finals.

The current bracket is as follows:

In the upper bracket, top Chinese teams Vici Gaming (VG), LGC.cn, Invictus Gaming (iG), and Team DK have made it past the first round where all teams save for Team DK won with a 2-0 sweep. Team DK dropped a game in the series against Team CIS, who made it to the main event after eliminating the Chinese Dota 2 ‘dream team’ Team Newbee in the qualifiers.

Team CIS has impressed the community with their creative picks and plays, including a lineup with a Wraith King and a Sniper as well as pulling off a level one Roshan against Chinese juggernaut Team DK and snowballing from there.
