Sina Cup 3 Day 2: VG dominates LGD.cn, Team Titan first to drop out of tournament

The main event for the third season of the Sina Cup Supernova Dota 2 Open continued with a very dominant Vici Gaming (VG) and Dream Time (DT.NGC) winning against Team Titan, causing the latter to be the first casualty of the tournament.

Take a look at the current bracket:

Upper bracket: LGD.cn versus VG

Having lost Zhang ‘xiao8′ Ning to Team Newbee, LGD.cn came into the tournament with Yao ‘Maybe’ Lu. VG, on the other hand, entered with the same roster they’ve had since their victory over the West in the Dota 2 Raidcall Electronic Esports Major League Series One.

Game 1: great team fights and push power

LGD.cn drafted a solo mid Sand King and sent Centaur top while Enchantress and Io went with Slark at bottom. VG, on the other hand, sent Alchemist mid and also went for a safe lane trilane with the Lycan, Shadow Shaman, and Ancient Apparition, leaving the Batrider to take bottom.

Early game was even for both teams with both their offlanes heavily shut down. However, the Batrider found it easier to bounce back and even got his Blink Dagger on the 14:48 mark, at the same time as the enemy’s farming Sand King. This allowed Batrider to initiate well and make important pickoffs.

LGD.cn also tried to do the same by ganking, but failed to make the most out of it, and even made questionable trades. An Io on a team usually means global ganking, but this was quite lacking in LGD.cn. At 17:00, LGD.cn found the Alchemist and even Relocated in, but instead lost three, allowing VG to continue putting on the pressure. The Lycan then purchased a Level 2 Necrobook at 18:00 and upgraded it to Level 3 two minutes later. The great pushing power from Shadow Shaman and Lycan as well as VG’s great team fights eventually forced LGD.cn to call the GGs.

The game ended at 22:25 with a score of 9-23 in favor of VG.
