So much for all the Google Buzz. Many have tried Google‘s new toy, but most were left disappointed, especially Twitter users.

Google Buzz might not be the most innovative invention on the web but embracing it might not be a total waste of time. Who knows, it could bring long term benefits for users who stuck to it.

1. Google Buzz + Gmail + Reader + Wave…

Google Buzz as a stand alone is crappy. But what if Google developed an integrated platform that allows us to do almost anything online: email, RSS, chat, wave etc? Google owns almost every piece of what we use on the web. All they need to do is piece them together and present them in an user-friendly fashion. After all, if Google is playing by their revenue equation, this makes perfect sense.

2. First movers’ advantage

In the followings/followers sort of social sites, the first mover tend to have larger followings base. That is of course only true if you provide value to the social-network. Google Buzz might be something that you would want to start on early to gain that advantage.

3. Learning from History

My Professor once handed out a case study that talked about MySpace’s phenomenal growth. But that was all in the past. Facebook is the most visited social site today, with over 400 million users. Would history repeat itself with Twitter and Google Buzz?
