Shopee to roll out ecommerce app in Mexico
“Shopee, the ecommerce arm of Southeast Asia’s Sea, has launched an app for Mexico, where it plans to offer online sales in what would be its second market in the Americas,” Reuters reported.
Details:
- Shopee is set to offer free shipping throughout Latin America’s second-biggest economy, its app preview showed.
- The Southeast Asian online shopping giant’s latest portal aims “to offer the same experience” in Mexico, listing items such as electronics, clothes, toys, and home goods.
Context:
- Earlier this year, it was reported that Shopee would scale its operations in Brazil and continue to evaluate the potential of Latin American markets.
- The developments come after Shopee launched an online shopping portal in Brazil in October 2019 that just showed the same shops as those on its Asian platforms.
