A survey from the e-logisitics company found that out of more than 1,000 participating merchants, about 27% use Shopee the most, while 25.5% and 22.5% chose Facebook and TikTok, respectively.
One in three of the respondents are livesellers, spending up to six hours weekly conducting liveselling sessions.
On average, merchants use two channels for liveselling, which could account for the close gaps between Shopee, Facebook, and TikTok, the report noted.
The survey results, however, reinforce how TikTok is gaining ground in the region’s ecommerce landscape. TikTok Shop topped US$4.4 billion in gross merchandise volume last year after aggressively expanding into Southeast Asia, according to a recent report from The Information.
