Awesome costumes: Thailand's Onnies rocks Bayonetta and League of Legends

“I think spending time on what you love is the most important thing.” That’s what Onnies, a video games and anime cosplayer from Thailand, told me when I asked her what she wanted to share with our readers. “Even if it doesn’t make money,” she continued. “I wish the day had more hours. I want to do more cosplay, play games, and sleep.” Now that’s passion.

Our interview was brief because I unfortunately don’t speak Thai, but it was very clear that Onnies is a woman of great passion. She loves video games and anime, she says, and it shows in her cosplay. She’s done dozens of photoshoots cosplaying characters from popular anime series, but what caught my attention (obviously) was her video game cosplay.

As you can see from these images, Onnies is a big fan of cosplaying the Popstar Ahri skin from League of Legends, and she has also cosplayed Headmistress Fiora. But those are just the costumes she likes. When she plays the actual game, Onnies told me, she usually plays as Miss Fortune.

Her real love isn’t MOBA games like League, though—she admitted that she isn’t very good at them anyway. “I prefer console games to PC,” she told me, “and action games are my favorite.” As you can see, one of the many console action titles she enjoys is Bayonetta.

Her obvious attention to detail is impressive, and there’s no denying that her costumes are damn impressive. But to be honest, it’s Onnies’ attitude that impresses me the most. Being willing to put so much into your passion even when it doesn’t help you earn money or fame is something we could all learn from.
