Sequoia’s Surge, GGV join $2m round of gamified wellness startup

- Revery is currently in stealth mode and plans to launch globally later this year, starting with a focus on the US market.
- Founded in 2021 by former Sequoia investment analyst Tammie Siew and ex-Google product manager Khoa Tran, the company is gamifying the wellness process by “combining cognitive behavioral therapy with gameplay and technology.”
- It is one of the 23 startups in Surge’s fifth accelerator cohort.
- The US-headquarter company aims to make mental health a part of day-to-day routines by adding mobile gaming concepts to make it “interactive and fun.”
- Siew, co-founder and CEO of Revery, noted that while sleeping problems affect two in every three adults, there are less than 1,000 sleep therapists globally.
- Young adults in Asia are also the most sleep-deprived, according to a study.
- The company looks to tap into the US$90 billion gaming market in its expansion process.
