While the market opportunity for the Philippines’ fruits and vegetables industry is significant, farmers often struggle to earn sustainable income due to the fragmented nature of the sector’s supply chain.
Founded in early 2022, Kita Agritech aims to address this issue through digitalization. It currently sources fruits and vegetables upstream for direct sales to B2B clients in the local hospitality industry.
The startup has just raised a seed round co-led by Gentree Fund and Altara Ventures.

“The Philippines has an intricate agricultural supply chain, extending from farmers to consumers, which makes tackling problems in this space challenging,” said Wirin Eiamphoklarp, vice president at Gentree Fund, in a statement. “We believe Kita has figured out a playbook for establishing a more efficient agricultural supply chain by digitalizing and unlocking market access for farmers.”
With the new capital, Kita wants to further support farmers by improving inventory management as well as reducing operational costs associated with natural disasters and inputs.
