Deskimo, a Singapore-based workspace startup, is expanding operations into Indonesia with more than 30 locations following a US$3 million seed round led by Y Combinator.

Founded in 2021 by Foodpanda co-founder Christian Mischler and former Rocket Internet managing director Raphael Cohen, Deskimo soft-launched in Jakarta on Wednesday, with 20 more workspaces eyed by the end of 2020.
The startup’s platform lets employees work in any of over 100 spaces across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Jakarta in Indonesia. Users pay by the minute for each spot, which features meeting rooms and private desks.
A 2020 CBRE study found that 58% of current flexible working space occupiers intend to increase how much they use these workplaces. Roughly 37% of users also see such spaces playing a significant role in their long-term real estate plans.
“The pandemic has transformed the way people work and how businesses operate. The disruption and demand for flexible work arrangements are more noticeable in Hong Kong,” said Adrian Ng, managing director at Deskimo’s Hong Kong office.
Deskimo is part of Y Combinator’s S21 cohort, joining 53 other startups from Asia.
