Singapore venture studio to raise $5m to invest in SEA startups
Singapore-based investment firm, Xpdite Capital Partners, plans to raise US$5 million to invest in Southeast Asian firms and expand its operations in the region.
Founded in 2019, Xpdite focuses on seed-stage and pre-series A startups. The firm operates a venture studio from Bangkok, Thailand, and also has operations in London, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Nairobi via its affiliate, Nest. Its portfolio focuses on travel, food, and health startups like Vietnam-based Innaway, Thailand-based Yindii, and Sri Lanka-based Findmyfare.
Xpdite said it expanded its operations in Bangkok following an initial capital raise in the first quarter of 2020. The company acquired Nest’s Bangkok-based corporate innovation business in September last year.
Nest’s has corporate clients in categories such as fintech, food, health, and agritech. Thai Union, Bangkok Bank, Fed Ex, and others are part of its clientele.
“With this new round of funding, we aim to further grow and accelerate our business portfolio, expand our operations and increase the value that we bring to our shareholders,” Xpdite Capital Partners’ CEO Bart Bellers said in a statement.
