Hello readers,
Have you ever been to a Walmart? I have, but it was so long ago that I barely remember the experience. What I know of the company mostly stems from memes about the kind of people you’d find at a Walmart, which admittedly, isn’t a very pretty picture.
So it’s interesting to me that the US retail giant – which is seemingly a hotspot for intriguing human specimens – is one of Indian ecommerce startup Flipkart’s biggest investors. After all, “ecommerce” and “technology” aren’t exactly the words I associate with Walmart, and its past investments in this space haven’t exactly worked out very well.
You can find all other important investment deals that happened in the last few days in our weekly funding news wrap-up.
