What's Big in Japan? Farming and Murder

With the release of the Playstation 4 a mere 12 days ago, one would expect this week’s sales charts to be all about Sony. However, with the release of the new Harvest Moon and Kaseki Horidor, the 3DS was able to reclaim the top two spots.

This doesn’t mean that Sony had a poor week of sales by any means. The Vita, PS3, and PS4 all had two games each on this list which together sold over 192,000 copies last week. Not only that , but the PS4 sold over 52,000 units last week, bringing it up to nearly 380,000 units sold in its first eight days.

If anything, this was a strong week for the portable systems. The 3DS’s Youkai Watch and Dragon Quest Monsters 2 have been on the list for some time now, but the Vita’s Deception 4 Blood Ties and Infinite Stratos 2 Ignition both had very strong debut weeks.
