Consumer sleeptech startup Earable Neuroscience has received an undisclosed amount of funding from Samsung’s venture capital arm in a bridge round.
The Vietnam- and US-based company’s flagship product is the Frenz Brainband, which tracks and stimulates brain activity to improve the user’s sleep, focus, and relaxation. The US$490 wearable device uses bone-conduction speakers to deliver AI-powered, personalized audio in real time.

Earable was founded in 2018 by Tam Vu, who also serves as its CEO. Nearly a decade of research by Vu and his colleagues at Oxford University and the University of Colorado went into creating the Frenz Brainband, which has 15 patents.
The firm previously secured US$6.8 million in a pre-series A round co-led by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund. It aims to start raising for its series A funding round by the fourth quarter of 2023.
