Samsung reveals launch dates for Galaxy S6 across Asia

At an event today in Singapore, Samsung revealed launch dates for the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge phones across Asia. The launches happen on eight dates throughout this month – starting with the global debut on April 10 – and cover much of the continent:

• April 10 – Australia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan.

• April 11 – Vietnam, New Zealand

• April 12 – Cambodia

• April 13 – Indonesia

• April 17 – Malaysia

• April 18 – Philippines

• April 20 – Thailand

• April 24 – Laos

We can add to that two other known dates – mainland China on April 10 and Hong Kong on April 20. The new model has been met with with largely favorable reviews but still faces a huge challenge in Asia with the iPhone 6 cornering the high-end market and new brands like Xiaomi undercutting Samsung on price.
