“Edtech firm Unacademy on Tuesday said it has signed a strategic partnership with Sachin Tendulkar. The former cricketer has picked up a small stake in the company apart from becoming its brand ambassador,” reported Livemint.
Details:
- According to Unacademy, Tendulkar will coach and mentor users through a series of live interactive classes on the platform, which can be accessed by users free of cost.
- Under the partnership, the edtech firm will develop content-led integrations with the cricket star in its sports-learning segment, which will come out in the next few months.
Context:
- The edtech firm claims it has over 49,000 registered teachers and over 40 million registered learners.
- Earlier in November 2020, Unacademy raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Tiger Global Management and Dragoneer Investment Group. The company’s co-founders also backed edtech startup Newton School in a US$5 million round this month.
