Nykaa rival Purplle to buy Faces Canada
Online beauty retailer Purplle is reportedly in talks to acquire direct-to-consumer cosmetics brand Faces Canada.
Last month, Purplle raised US$140 million in its series D financing round as the Sequoia Capital India-backed firm looks to deliver 6x to 8x growth in its business in the next five years.
The Nykaa rival has over 1,000 brands, with more than 50,000 products across categories like makeup, skincare, haircare, personal care, fragrances, and grooming appliances.
Zoho backs US$15 million round of electric bike startup
Electric bike startup Ultraviolette has reportedly raised around US$15 million in a series C round from TVS Motor Company and Zoho Corporation.
The latest investment supposedly pushes the valuation of the firm to US$205 million. With the new round, TVS Motor has become the largest shareholder in Ultraviolette with a 33.95% stake, while Zoho owns a 2.46% stake. Existing investor GoFrugal also has a 13.93% stake in the startup.
Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette aims to build an ecosystem that addresses the transportation needs of an urban environment.
