Vietnam blockchain game hub nets US$25m fundraise

Whydah, a Vietnam-based blockchain-based game hub, has raised US$25 million from a clutch of investors including Hashkey, Eternity Ventures, and Bitscale.

This development comes on the heels of Whydah’s partnership with seven gaming studios in Vietnam – namely Topebox, Wolffun Game, IMBA Game, Hiker Games, Divmob, 1B Game Studio, and KEIG Studio – to develop a project called Iron Sail.

Iron Sail’s goal is to move toward an open metaverse where everyone and everything is connected, both online and offline, Whydah said in a statement.

The project also aims to make blockchain game development more accessible and sustainable. In line with this, Whydah plans to open a game application center where Vietnamese game developers can bring their best ideas to blockchain platforms.

“In the wake of the metaverse trend, there will be an increasing number of institutions stepping in the space. We are positioning ourselves amongst the vanguards who fight for the open of such metaverse,” said Tri Pham, founder and CEO of Whydah. He also co-founded blockchain infrastructure KardiaChain.
