You loved a pair of sexy red stilettos while browsing online, but dangit! How do you find them?
Fashion on the internet can charm the pants off you, with its dazzling stream of clothes, jewelry, lingerie, beauty, bags, and accessories. But at the end of it, you may be none the wiser. Because nobody’s telling you where to find an exact match.
Well, we know a place. Try Roposo, a social network for fashion addicts, which has seen 2 million active users since the app was launched in April last year.
“Roposo is a destination for style lovers to search for and discover fashion-forward products, trends, reviews, DIYs,” says Avinash Saxena, one of the co-founders of the Gurgaon-based startup.
Like Instagram and Facebook, it’s a user-generated content platform.
Aimed at women, it sees 100,000 posts being put up by subscribers every month and has several Bollywood celebrities on board. It has a search engine after your heart, besides discount alerts and deals.
Roposo, after all, is a play on the word APROPOS – meaning relevant.
Three men and women’s fashion

The Roposo founders
The startup was founded by three Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi alumni, all men.
Avinash, Mayank Bhangadia, and Kaushal Shubhank had nothing much to do with fashion until they hit upon the idea while working on their first venture, Giveter. The gifting platform is still running – and profitably at that.
“We were chatting over a few drinks one night when we thought of a social network for fashion. We realized how much time women spent browsing, picking products, and following trends online,” Avinash tells Tech in Asia.
The startup was born in July 2014. The app came about in April last year.
