Rising SE Asian startups this week: Special Wavemaker edition
Which are the startups that are on the path to becoming the next big thing? This week’s special edition of rising Southeast Asian startups includes teams that participated in Wavemaker Partners’ Annual Startup Showcase held on January 15.
Wavemaker’s Annual Startup Showcase
1. Cyber Intelligence House (Singapore)
Cyber Intelligence House specializes in cyber exposure, discovering breached credentials and suspicious and stolen information that can be found in the deep and dark web. Its clients include the Prime Minister’s Office of Finland, Interpol, Hong Kong Police, and Cebu Pacific Air.
To date, the company has developed over 450 unique smart crawlers and crawled more than 220 million unique documents and 60,000 dark marketplaces. It is currently looking to partner with security operation centers, cybersecurity consultants, and service providers.
2. eFishery (Indonesia)
Efishery has developed a proprietary internet-of-things device that can accurately sense the fish and shrimp appetite, as well as adjust the amount of feed to improve crop health and increase yield. It is deployed in 89 cities and districts in Indonesia, and has so far helped clients save over 36.4 million kilograms of feed.
The startup claims to be profitable, with zero percent churn rate and 26,100 percent growth over the last two years.
3. Giztix (Thailand)
Giztix is a logistics company that offers a management system for transporters, as well as a marketplace that connects shippers and transporters. It integrates with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics.
Since 2016, the company has quadrupled its growth year-on-year, handling 7.5 million in GMV in 2018 and projecting to handle 100 million GMV in 2020. It is raising US$10 million to expand its operations to Vietnam and Indonesia within two years and to dominate the Thai market.
4. Involt (Singapore)
Involt is using supercapacitor technology to develop a new approach to electricity storage. This results in 200 times longer battery life and 100 times faster charging speed. It is currently testing and optimizing its solution, as well as launching pilot projects.
5. Jumper (Singapore)
Jumper facilitates social commerce by enabling brands and enterprises to sell directly through social media and apps using hashtags. It currently has more than 11,000 SaaS customers, including Unilever, Toyota, Disney, and Johnson & Johnson.
