Burgers of Azeroth: China gets World of Warcraft-themed McDonalds restaurants

Normally, we wouldn’t write about a video game’s advertising, but this one is just too clever not to share. As promotion for the upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion, Netease and Blizzard have partnered with fast food chain restaurant McDonalds to re-skin three Chinese McDonald’s restaurants with all kinds of WoW-themed decorations.

The promotion starts today, and if you can’t get to one of the themed stores, you can still get some in-game stuff by making purchases at any McDonalds in China and then redeeming your virtual goods here. But if you want to make a trip to one of the themed stores, here are the three locations. The promotion runs from now through November 4th, so you probably need to get there before then:

  • Beijing: Haidian district, 22 Ren Da Bei Lu, diagonally across from the Haidian Theater.
  • Shanghai: Jing’an district, 388 Nanjing Xi Lu, first floor of the Xianyuesi plaza
  • Guangzhou: 233 Tianhe Bei Lu, China Citic Bank plaza first and second floors
  • (You can mouseover each address for the full address in Chinese if you need it.)
