Report: AirAsia eyes US listing of digital unit within the year

AirAsia Group is exploring the possibility of listing either its AirAsia Digital or AirAsia SuperApp in the US as early as this year, as Southeast Asia’s second-biggest budget carrier plans to expand its digital operations,” Bloomberg reported, citing the airline’s CEO Tony Fernandes.

Details:

  • In an interview, Fernandes said that the company has hired accountants after receiving interest from various special purpose acquisition companies.
  • BigPay, AirAsia’s digital wallet, is also expected to announce a transaction that would give it “a very nice valuation,” the CEO added.
