- Gojek has started the early stages of setting its carbon reduction targets by running an inventory of its carbon footprint, which will cover scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions.
- The company is in “active discussions” with stakeholders regarding turning Indonesia’s transport system electric, including its own two-wheeler fleet.
Context:
- Earlier in January, Gojek started an initiative to test its EVs in major Indonesian cities in an aim to reduce carbon emissions from public transportation.
- Majority of the startup’s carbon emissions come from its app, which is used by 38 million people every month for transport, food delivery, and payment services.
