Singapore sports content platform 1 Play Sports raises $2.5m in funding
Singapore-based 1 Play Sports has received US$2.5 million from investment firms ThinKuvate and H Capital Investment, as well as other high-profile angel investors, its co-founder and CEO Mohit Lalvani confirmed to Tech in Asia.
The round was completed at a pre-money valuation of US$12.5 million, he added.

The sports content platform livestreams sports events and publishes related stories on its social media platforms. It has broadcasted over 3,000 hours of sports content such as the Southeast Asia Games 2019, ASEAN School Games 2019, and AIA Singapore Premier League 2021.
With the funds, the media firm will improve its platform to allow sports bodies to create an ecosystem around their assets, said Lalvani. They are also looking into acquiring more talent.
“We are looking to expand further into India, which is an already profitable subsidiary, and into the US,” the CEO said.
Correction (July 26, 2021 – 6:30 pm SGT): Lalvani clarified that the pre-money valuation for this amount was US$12.5 million.
