Relive a classic adventure: Final Fantasy V now available on Android

Android users who are fans of the Final Fantasy franchise will be glad to know that Final Fantasy V, one of the series’ earlier installments, is now available on Android.

Final Fantasy V was first released by Square (now Square Enix) for Nintendo’s Super Famicom in 1992 and has since been ported to different platforms including Sony’s PlayStation and Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance. A version of Final Fantasy V had also been released for the iPhone and the iPad last March 2013.

The fifth installment of the Final Fantasy series presented an improved job and ability system from Final Fantasy III, which allowed players to choose their character’s classes and customize abilities and skills. This improved system allowed for various combinations and possibilities based on the the player’s preference, while still maintaining the balance set by the game.

Players take on the roles of five different characters, including a wanderer named Bartz whose adventure kicks off after he investigates a fallen meteor. Along with four other significant characters, players then embark on a journey as they learn about the earth, fire, and water crystals, and the threat to world peace.

Gamers looking to experience an old-school classic for the first time and long-time fans hoping to relive the game can now download Final Fantasy V from the Google Play Store for $18.00.
