Red update kicks off in Maplestory SEA today, features a big revamp for all Explorer classes
The first of three patches from the Red update has hit Maplestory SEA, in celebration of the ten-year Maplestory anniversary in Korea.
Asiasoft has something special in store to celebrate the ninth anniversary of Maplestory SEA, though. The company will be holding nine weeks of activities from May 14, 2014, to July 15, 2014, including a bunch of online and offline events for fans of the game to win prizes.
In today’s more immediate update, however, the Explorer class jobs (Warrior, Magician, Bowman, Thief, and Pirate) has been revamped with a new look, new skills, new quests, and a new tutorial. In addition, Explorer class characters may now switch jobs anytime using in-game currency.

In the next update coming June 11, there will be a new one-of-a-kind class named “Zero”, which will allow players to control two characters named Alpha and Beta. Players will be able to freely switch between the two in-game.
Zero class characters will also gain exclusive entry to the Mirror World map, where they may embark on classes exclusively for the Zero class.
Rounding up the Red update on July 2 will be the addition of Kritias, a new map for players level 160 and above. The map will feature new challenging quests and monsters, including a new epic boss called Hekaton, who will try even the most powerful players in the realm.
Overall the update will brings a lot of new content both to veteran and new players. We would like to cordially congratulate Maplestory on reaching its ten-year anniversary!
