Lim was the group president of GIC Private Limited from 2007 to 2016, and subsequently adviser to GIC’s group executive committee up until March of this year.
He also served as a board member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and chairman at the Singapore Economic Development Board, where he focused on improving Singapore’s position as a global business center.
“As we embark on our next phase of growth to expand our fintech business, not just regionally but globally, we are truly honored to have Mr. Lim Siong Guan join the board of advisors for Razer Fintech,” said Razer CEO and co-founder Min-Liang Tan.
Established in April 2018, Razer Fintech currently operates two verticals: Razer Merchant Services (RMS) and Razer Pay.
RMS serves as the company’s business-to-business solution that encompasses card processing gateway services for online payments and physical acceptance points for offline payments across Southeast Asia.
The Razer Pay e-wallet is the business-to-consumer solution targeted at the youth, millennials, and the unbanked.
In June, Razer announced a partnership with Visa to enable payments through Razer Pay, which launched in Singapore a month prior to the deal.
Razer Fintech also joined the payment giant’s fast-track program, where the two companies will develop a virtual Visa prepaid solution.
