Singaporean users of Razer’s gaming products will be among the first in the city-state to use the gaming company’s new Razer Pay e-wallet.
Razer – which is headquartered in Singapore and listed in Hong Kong – announced the beta launch of its payments app today.

Razer fans and gamers can apply to get the beta app here. After expressing their interest, successful applicants will receive an access code via text message and can begin using the service.
The gaming company’s foray into digital payments began back in August 2017, when CEO Tan Min-Liang responded to Singaporean prime minister Lee Hsien Loong’s public call for the country to adopt a unified e-payments system.
Razer’s proposal received a mixed response, with local payments player Nets among the skeptics.
However, Razer announced an alliance with telecom giant Singtel in May last year, with the aim of creating “the largest e-payments network Southeast Asia.” Within a couple of months Razer Pay had gone live in Malaysia, where it is accepted at chains including 7-Eleven, Starbucks, and Krispy Kreme, and can be linked to accounts with seven of the country’s biggest banks.
Razer expects to launch Razer Pay in full in Singapore before the end of H1 2019.
Also today, Razer unveiled a partnership with Fomo Pay, which will allow more than 4,000 merchants country-wide to accept payments made with Razer Pay. The alliance will also make it easier to onboard new merchants.
Fomo Pay allows merchants to use a single QR code to accept payments from multiple providers.
Moreover, Razer and Nets have decided to let bygones be bygones and are working together to enable Razer Pay transactions at nearly 40,000 of Nets’ point-of-sale terminals in Singapore.
