Pre Arc Revolution Cup tournament announced for three Arc System Works titles

BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold, and Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- are more than just games with overly long and complex names. They are the current flagship arcade fighting game titles offered by the veteran Japanese fighting game developer Arc System Works, and the three titles that will be played in an upcoming tournament: the Pre Arc Revolution Cup.

Taking place in Kyoto at the Neo Amusement Space A-Cho arcade over four days starting Saturday May 3. The tournament promises exclusive in-game titles you can use when battling with your NESiCA IC card, trophies, and exclusive merchandise for the winners. And while it doesn’t promise glory and fame on its website, it is heavily implied contestants stand to win those too.

Despite the name, this is not a qualifying tournament for the Arc Revolution Cup, a large-scale competition with qualifying rounds held all over Japan which hopeful champions must win in order to earn a place in the final tournament. Having said that, the Pre Arc Revolution Cup does not look like it’s going to be a small tournament either, as all three of the titles being played are massively popular in Japan at the moment.
