In brief: Malaysia’s Vynn Capital nets investment for Southeast Asia fund
- Vynn Capital is gearing up to close its debut fund after it landed an undisclosed sum from Malaysia Venture Capital Management, the country’s largest investor.
- Founded by former Gobi Ventures partner Victor Chua and Singaporean investor Darren Chua (no relation) in 2018, Vynn is targeting a US$40 million fund for Southeast Asian startups.
- Kuala Lumpur-based Vynn has reportedly made four investments via the fund, including Travelio’s series A in May 2018 and Dropee’s seed funding last month.
