Here's what happens when you're first in line for a PlayStation 4 launch (VIDEO)

Aaron Tan had been in the line since 5:00am this morning when we first talked to him. The 38-year-old, who works in advertising, was lucky enough to be on leave the day the PlayStation 4 launched in Singapore.

The PlayStation 3 launch event had been his first console launch, and while he had long planned to attend the PlayStation 4 one, he said that he had “never expected” to be first in line.

But he was. And in return for his dedication, Tan received his pre-ordered console, a redemption voucher for the PS Vita TV launching early next year, a one year PlayStation Plus membership and lots of media attention.

At the official event, Deputy President of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia, Hiroyuki Oda, Atsushi Endo, General Manager of the Sony Singapore Marketing Centre, and Pradeep Tewani, Managing Director of Uptron, all took the stage to celebrate the PlayStation 4’s launch in Singapore by popping bottles of champagne.

Oda-san himself presented the PlayStation 4 console to Tan, who raised it triumphantly over his head upon receiving it.

Approximately three hundred people were in line at time of the launch, with at least a hundred more joining the queue shortly. The PlayStation 4 launch in Singapore took place at the PlayStation 4 pop-up store outside of Wisma Atria, a mall located along Singapore’s premier shopping belt, Orchard Road.

While the queue at the pop-up store was only for pre-order collection, gamers who want to buy their PlayStation 4 consoles right now can head to the flagship Sony store in Wisma Atria to make their purchases.
