In brief: International shipping startup founded by ex-Lazada duo nets $4m
Hong Kong-based Easyship today announced that it has raised US$4 million in series A funding to empower more people to make cross-border purchases online.
Founded in 2015 by former Lazada duo Tommaso Tamburnotti and Augustin Ceyrac, and ex-banker Paul Lugagne Delpon, Easyship lets ecommerce sites offer international shipping solutions to customers upon checkout. The startup has a network of more than 250 discounted shipping solutions that’s used by 40,000 small and medium-sized enterprises selling online.
Leading the series A round were Max Bittner, Lazada’s founder and ex-CEO who’s set to be CEO of French online retailer Vestiaire Collective, and Richard Lepeu, former CEO of global luxury giant Richemont and current board member of Yoox Net-A-Porter Group. Existing backer Lamivoie Capital Partners followed up on this round, while new venture funds Rubicon Venture Capital, One Way Ventures, Kima Ventures, and Picus Capital joined in.
Lepeu and Bittner have joined Easyship’s board of advisors to help propel its growth.
