Philippine gamers, here are five gaming tournaments for you this weekend

If you haven’t made plans for the weekend yet, you might want to read on to find out where the gaming action is happening. The Imperium eSports bar and Mineski have some tournaments and events in store for you.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (UMvC3), Blazblue Chrono Phantasma (BBCP), King of Fighters XIII (KOF13)

One of the things Imperium is known for aside from games and absolute zero beer is its loyal fighting game fans. The fighting game community is holding not one, not two, but three fighting game tournaments this week.

Registration for the UMvC3, BBCP, and KOF13 tournaments this Saturday, May 31, is open to all and will cost PhP 150 ($3.42) per game. Players are expected to bring their own stick or controller. The champion will receive 70 percent of the pot, while the first runner up will receive 30 percent.

The tournaments for BBCP and KoF13 will start at 1:30 PM to 2:30 P.M. while the UMvC3 tournament will start at 3:00 P.M. For inquiries and more details, head over here.

Hearthstone

The day after the fighting game tournaments, Imperium turns into an arena for Hearthstone fans with the third leg of the Imperium Hearthstone challenge .

This tournament will be limited to 32 participants. Each player will be allowed to have three decks of different classes, with the loser of each match switching decks. The winner retains his deck until a loss. Elimination rounds will be played as best-of-five series while the final four matches will have best-of-seven series.

The champion will receive a cash prize of PhP 1,250 ($28.53) while the first runner up will receive a cash prize of PhP 250 ($5.71).

Interested participants can register on the day of the tournament, June 1, 3:00 P.M. with a tournament entry fee of PhP 100 ($2.28). More details can be found here.
