Yahoo! kills Koprol after massive layoffs in Indonesia

Come 28th August 2012, Koprol will be no more. Indonesian tech blog DailySocial has reported that Yahoo!, which acquired the Indonesian location-based social networking startup in 2009, is shutting down the service.

The news comes three months after Yahoo! fired about 80 percent of its technical development team in Indonesia, DailySocial added.

The app was actually coming along nicely. The Foursquare-like service was developing significant user traction and planning Koprol 2.0, the revamped version of the app.

Koprol users can export their data to their computer before the service shuts down.

The company is known as one of the most high-profile tech startup successes in Indonesia following its acquisition by Yahoo!.
