Robots Versus Monsters: Indian Studio Builds A Game For ‘Pacific Rim’ Fans

I just watched Pacific Rim yesterday. The movie is quite successful, scoring $14.6 million in gross revenue in its first 1.25 days of play. So it’s nice to see that a mobile game for iOS and Android based on the movie is out today. The builder of that game is India-based Reliance Games and the gameplay looks very similar to the popular Infinity Blade.
Inside the game you will be able to control five robots known as jeiger to battle the incoming waves of monsters called kaiju. There are two modes of play: story and survival. The former mode has 30 levels for you to battle your heart out, and you can also unlock weapons and combos to save the earth from the invading kaijus. The latter mode’s name speaks for itself: endless waves of kaijus amass until your jeiger dies.
It’s great to see that the one building the mobile game for the Hollywood sci-fi movie is a company based in Asia. Reliance Entertainment Digital (parent company of Reliance Games) CEO Manish Agarwal says that “it’s been a great opportunity to work with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures to bring the excitement and edge-of-your-seat action of Pacific Rim onto mobile devices.”
This is not the first time Reliance Games has handled game development for Hollywood movies. Last time around the same developer built the Mac game for another robot-themed movie, Real Steel.
Pacific Rim is available on both iOS and Android for $4.99.
