“Ola Electric has announced the appointment of Yongsung Kim as head of global sales and distribution. Kim will oversee the Indian and international markets,” The Economic Times reported.
Details:
- Kim will be responsible for Ola Electric’s domestic and global strategy for sales and its go-to-market strategy. The company is planning to roll out its first electric scooter in India as well as Southeast Asia, Europe, the UK, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Prior to Ola Electric, Kim served as general manager at Hyundai Motor and executive director of sales and marketing at Kia Motors.
Context:
- Ola Electric is building its electric vehicle manufacturing factory in India, aiming to make it the largest two-wheeler production site globally with an annual capacity of 10 million units.
- SoftBank, Tiger Global Management, and Matrix Partners India are some of the company’s backers.
