Hi readers,

First of all, I hope everybody’s having a pleasant start to 2023! I know I’m not alone in this, but I personally had a pretty rocky 2022. Now I feel like I’m ready to charge ahead.

When it comes to Asia’s fundraising landscape, 2022 also left a lot to be desired. We recently reported that investment deals have mostly plateaued in the last year, which can be attributed in some part to the continuing economic downturn.

Total investment amounts started dropping off in July, which saw just US$780 million worth of deals compared to June’s US$2.1 billion. The year also ended on a somber note, with investment numbers being less than US$900 million for each of the last three months of 2022, our data shows.

We also know that fundraising is not an easy task, which is also not helped by the looming recession. That’s one of the major reasons why we’re always keen to feature startups in our fundraising list, which is updated on a weekly basis.

Companies of any stage can sign up, and we’ll be more than happy to help connect them to the right people. If you or anyone you know is looking to secure additional capital, please let us know here.
