PrimaKu was born in 2017 out of a vision to overcome childhood stunting problems in Indonesia, according to Muhammad Aditriya Indraputra, its co-founder and CEO.

Six years later, it has evolved into a full-stack digital platform for all parenting needs. The startup has just secured an undisclosed amount in pre-series A funding round led by Northstar Group and AppWorks. Other participating investors include BRI Ventures and BIG Ventures.

PrimaKu offers services that cover three major initiatives: child growth monitoring, nutrition guidance, as well as vaccination and immunization services. The platform, said to have over 1.2 million users across Indonesia, connects stakeholders such as parents, pediatricians, and healthcare facilities.

“What distinguishes PrimaKu is our unwavering commitment to child health monitoring and streamlining the journey for parents in fostering their children’s optimal growth,” Indraputra told Tech in Asia.

To illustrate its application, parents can book vaccinations through PrimaKu or access its personalized growth tracker to monitor their children’s key development milestones.

Indraputra said the startup has a network of more than 150 clinics on the platform and plans to double this number within the next 12 months, expanding reach to Tier 2 and 3 cities in Indonesia.

With the new funding, the firm also wants to go into distributing products and services for parenting needs.

The CEO said PrimaKu isn’t profitable yet but believes that it has a lot of potential to unlock new revenue streams in the future.
