Nintendo debuts new trailers for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Hardcore Zelda fans are probably already excited about The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Nintendo’s new 3DS Zelda game. But in a Nintendo Direct announcement, the company debuted a new trailer for A Link Between Worlds, which sadly isn’t embeddable but can be viewed starting at around the 1:54 mark in the Nintendo direct announcement video. Nintendo will also be debuting a series of new 15-second Zelda trailers on its Instagram page, the first of which is available here (although it’s really more of a retrospective than a proper trailer).

The Nintendo Direct announcement also contains some details about the game itself, like its new fast-travel system (a witch named Irene and her magic broom), and further information on several other characters.

Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime also reiterated that the A Link Between Worlds isn’t the only new Zelda product on hand; Nintendo has made a custom Zelda-themed version of the 3DS (pictured above). It will be sold together with the game as a digital bundle, so those who don’t own a 3DS can pick both the game and the handheld up with a single purchase (and of course, if you already own a 3DS, a A Link Between Worlds can also be purchased separately). This isn’t really news, as it was first announced in late October, but it’s nice to see the device up close.

The bundle, like the game, will be available on November 22 in the US. It’s not immediately clear whether this bundle will also be offered officially in Asia (and the game doesn’t even release in Japan until late December), but since this is likely to be a popular collectors item, it’ll certainly be possible to import this special Zelda 3DS if you’re that big a Zelda fan and your local retailers aren’t carrying it.
