Ninja’s Creed: Lawless Battle review…is this game even finished?
I’m going to give it to you straight. This game is an abomination. I’ve never seen a game so glitchy, seemingly unfinished, and boring. Nicoletta Warzecha’s Ninja’s Creed: Lawless Battle may be the worst game I’ve ever played for iOS, and I can’t even begin to describe my disappointment.
The game takes place in the world of Naruto, to the point where you have to wonder if Nicoletta Warzecha is going to be nailed with a lawsuit. Ninja’s Creed features characters from the series including Nagato, Kisame, Tobi, and even Asuma, which is nice for any fan. The game also includes songs from the anime including Raising Fighting Spirit. But these are the best parts of the game. Let’s get into what Ninja’s Creed truly is.
Ninja’s Creed: Lawless Battle is a runner that has you, a ninja, running from ledge to ledge throwing shurikens at enemy ninja. This is a fine premise that could be a ton of fun. The formula has worked well for numerous games in the past, so what makes Ninja’s Creed stand out as pathetic?
Pacing
This game is slow. A running game with ninjas make sense, but only if the ninjas run fast. I’m convinced that the ninjas in Ninja Creed had to have failed the academy; there is just no way you can move this slow and still be an efficient assassin. Once an enemy appears on the screen, I had enough time to set the iPad down, leisurely take a drink of water, and pick the iPad back up in time to throw my shuriken.
Glitches
Glitches happen occasionally, and when they do they can be hilarious. However when the whole game seems to be filled with them, the game becomes unplayable. Ninja’s Creed crashed a number of times while playing, and when I fell through a pit, I found myself running underneath everything instead of dying. Often times you will run into bad guys just floating in the air. The game is a mess.
Just Boring
Ninja’s Creed is also so simple, slow, and boring that I found myself bored almost immediately. Often times I found suicide a more pleasant option than continuing the game. You can imagine my frustration when while throwing myself in a pit to end the game, Ninja Creed glitched and I became an invisible ninja running below everyone. It is just awful.
In terms of control, you only have two options; jump and throw. Your jumps do respond nicely to a tap of the left side of the screen, but have you awkwardly floating, which is tough to gauge. When you tap the right side of the screen you throw a shuriken, which is your only attack. And I quickly learned that if you just hold down the right side, you will have a nonstop, machine gun styled, shuriken attack which pretty much makes you invincible.
