Ninja Van invests $50m to automate parcel sorting in SEA

Ninja Van Group, a Singapore-headquartered logistics unicorn, is investing US$50 million to automate its parcel-processing capabilities across its nine key regional parcel sorting hubs.

The company expects to complete the enhancement by the second half of 2024. It expects that the automation will increase operational productivity across Southeast Asia by 50%.

“An optimal delivery experience is critical in helping brands build trust amongst online shoppers, so it is crucial for us to continue investing in systems and processes that can drive these outcomes,” stated Joel Ong, COO of Ninja Van.

The firm has already rolled out automated solutions such as customized automated sorting belts at some of its key parcel hubs in Singapore in 2021. The company also plans to automate its parcel-processing capabilities in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The company had raised US$578 million in a series E round in 2021.
