Nexon’s Red Muffler: Hunter’s Scramble for Kakao trailer released

This is what it looks like when you splice an airplane shoot ‘em up like 1942 with a free-running game like Temple Run, and it is one sexy looking mutant.

Nexon Korea has put up this trailer for its new mobile game Red Muffler: Hunter’s Scramble for Kakao. The game puts you in the cockpit of a World War I era fighter plane and pits you against an evil organization that has captured your princess. As usual, it’s up to you to save her.

Although the camera angle is reminiscent of Temple Run, as is the way you have to maneuver left and right in certain lanes to avoid danger, Red Muffler does have an end point for each mission, where you have to take down a boss or complete a course. Sometimes it’s nice to play a game knowing that it doesn’t have to end with your death.

Red Muffler looks gorgeous for a mobile game. The promotional trailer shows off cute 3D graphics and fast-paced action, and I have an unhealthy obsession with that oh-so-heavenly and familiar sound of coins being picked up so the game gets an early 10/10 from me in terms of sound effects as well.

Red Muffler will be released on Kakaotalk, but while no release date has been given for this game, nor have any language ports been announced, I personally think it’s cool looking enough to keep gunning for.
