Following in the success of the original MapleStory, Nexon has officially announced MapleStory 2 and confirmed it will be a full 3D game with an isometric camera. However, Siliconera reports that according to Nexon, MapleStory 2 will take place in a new world, feature new monsters and will not be related to the existing MapleStory.
Nexon will continue to support both iterations of MapleStory. User testing for MapleStory 2 is expected to start in mid-2014.
While Nexon will have a presence at the coming G-Star convention, MMO Culture has reported that it will not be announcing any further details there. A teaser site has been set up, but it features little to no details.
