Thailand approves TikTok’s $3.8b investment

TikTok has received approval from Thailand’s Board of Investment to invest US$3.8 billion in digital infrastructure.

This investment will support data hosting services, with operations expected to commence in 2025.

This initiative is part of Thailand’s broader strategy to become a regional hub for data centers and cloud services.

Other companies – including Amazon Web Services, Google, and Australia’s NextDC – have announced plans for similar developments in Thailand.
