Tesla is recalling 376,241 vehicles in the US due to a potential issue with power-assisted steering systems.

The recall affects Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built between Feb. 28, 2023, and Oct. 11, 2023.

The problem involves overstressed printed circuit boards in the steering systems, which could lead to a failure of power-assisted steering when the vehicle stops and then accelerates.

If the power-assisted steering fails, drivers may need to exert more effort to steer, increasing the risk of accidents.

Tesla has said it is unaware of any crashes, injuries, or fatalities related to this issue. The company is offering an over-the-air software update as a remedy.

This recall follows a related investigation and a voluntary recall in China for similar steering system issues.
