Tesla halts FSD rollout in China amid stricter regulations
Tesla has temporarily halted the rollout of its Full Self-Driving software (FSD) in China while it seeks regulatory approval.
The update came via the company’s official customer support account on Weibo.
The move follows new rules from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology aimed at tightening oversight of intelligent connected vehicles. The regulations require separate approvals for software updates and over-the-air upgrades based on different hardware versions.
Tesla said it is actively working on the approval process for both its Hardware 3.0 and 4.0 systems and plans to resume the rollout once it gets the green light.
