Spotify paid nearly 1,500 artists over $1m each in 2024: report
Almost 1,500 artists earned over US$1 million in royalties from Spotify in 2024, as stated in the company’s annual Loud and Clear report released on Mar.13.
More than 80% of these artists did not appear on the app’s Global Daily Top 50 Chart.
To achieve the US$1 million mark, artists typically need around four to five million monthly listeners. This results in 20 to 25 million monthly streams.
This indicates that success on the platform is possible without an extensive back catalog or chart-topping tracks.
The report also indicated that the number of artists earning over US$10 million in royalties grew by 600% since 2017.
